Why You Need DDV©
Many diamond sellers on the web claim that because a diamond has been graded by a reputable laboratory, any qualified local appraiser can determine whether it is the same diamond specified on the certificate. While on the surface that statement is true, it's just not good enough.
You, the buyer, are left unprotected in too many ways.
What isn't mentioned is that once you accept the shipment, it is at your risk from all hazards. So, if you take your diamond to a local appraiser for an opinion, and they advise you that the diamond doesn't match the information on the certificate what is your recourse if the seller says "We shipped you the diamond called for on the certificate. How Does DDV© Work?
- For a low fee of $35, either the (EGL) or the
(IGI), among the most respected independent gemological laboratories in the country, will examine your diamond accompanied by its original laboratory grading certificate and verify that the diamond submitted is the same one as described on the original certificate.
- To further ensure your absolute comfort and peace of mind,
after verification the laboratory will package and ship the diamond directly to you.
